Looking for experienced recommendation for headers that fit well and provide good clearances between the engine & components and the ground clearance. 1978 Malibu wagon, lowered 1" in front. Hooker? Flowtech? Dynomax. they will be ceramic coated.

Dynomax full length on my '78 wagon right now... fit great, went in very easy with no additional clearance work, lots of ground clearance.

Super Comps are nice but they weren't the easiest to get in. I had to lift the motor to get them in. Maybe I did it wrong but that is my experience with them. Also I run the Fram PH30 oil filter cuz it is shorter. I had a different brand on there that was longer and man did I have a time getting that one off. Switched over to the PH30 and no clearence problems. Put in and taking out the plugs are easy, lots of room. I have had other headers and some can be a pain

You have these on a small block right? Are they the ones that has one tube over the frame rail?

The 68310 Hedman fit well, but they only have 1-1/2" primary tubes. This isn't necessarily a bad thing for a stock or very mildly modified engine and/or small displacement V-8, but the 1-5/8" headers are nice to have because they work well on a stock engine and give plenty of room to grow into.
