HELP...temp gauge issue...any one had this problem??

the cooper tube going into the back of my mechanical temp gauge
broke off.
the tube is hollow and was soldered into a brass fitting that comes out of the gauge.

can this be soldered back into place and still work properly???

has anyone tryed to fix a problem like this or is it junk????????

It's junk. That's a capillary tube. In a nutshell, the end of it that goes into the engine has a resorvoir filled with a liquid or a gas that expands with a rise in temperature and makes the needle move. It basically works just like a pressure gage.
