I'm converting my car over to a Holley EFI and a Holley Dash. I've made a few custom backgrounds for Malibu's. If anyone is using one of these dashes with a Holley ECU and likes or is interested in one of these backgrounds for their car, I do not charge anything for them. Here are some examples I've made.

Do you still have your GN aerocoupe? I remember you were working on it from about midnight until 6am and then going to work. I thought you had it mostly done, but the rear window was not permanently set in.

Shame. I remember you got a screaming deal on the parts from a junk yard, removing the parts yourself. Wasn't it like $75 for everything?

Did the new owner ever finish the trunk?

Do you see the car around, or was it sold far away?

I sold the car to a man in Ohio if I remember. I'm in Eastern NC. He said he was going to finish it with the Aerocoupe rear window in it. I haven't seen it posted online or heard from him since.

The whole Aero window with everything I bought for $75 at a You-Pull-It yard. I took the VIN number plate behind the windshield too. I actually still have that.

Those are the pictures I remember. I remember reading about the work did on the trunk lid since it was a very different design from the Regal.

Was there bad damage to the aerocoupe body?

You must have gotten there just in time to get those parts from the yard.

I remember this day like it was yesterday because it was not something you see in a you pull it yard. I got there pretty much when it was first put in the yard. The left rear quarter panel was smashed in. In the salvage yard picture, you can see the top of the quarter panel drooping down. It bent the aero package tray some and I had to bend it out straight again.

The day when I got the all the aero stuff off the car (except the metal package tray) the dash was still in it. I also got the cluster out the same day. The following day I went back with spot weld tool remover to get the tray. Someone already took the dash out. That's when I took the VIN number. I also remember that car was not equipped with air conditioning and had a bench seat and column shifter. Something you don't see hardly at all on a aero coupe.

I have only ever seen 1 Monte Carlo SS without A/C and it also had manual windows. In the northern most states and Canada it is more common.

You are right, I don't think I have seen very many bench seat, column shifted 1987 aerocoupes.
