How low rpm can the nitrous be activated stall to low??

I just recently ran 11.7@121mph with my low comp 454,100 hp shot.My 60ft time 1.76 i was running the 28x10 et drags the car didn't see like it was spinning badly i launch at 1k rpm and floored,i am running stock 87 gn stall converter d5 rated at 2200 rpm.I have the window switch with nos coming on at 3k and off at 5k.Can i get the 2600 rpm turn on point to flash the converter higher.Or will this cause backfires?I have 3.42 gears also

a friend of mine activates his at just about 1800.. 70 skylark w/ stock buick 350, stock converter, 3.73 gears. hasn't had a problem yet. been about a year now.
hes got that thing going 12.4 like that.

personally mines not on till 4500.

mine comes on at 2700rpm.....no worries as long as your at WOT

^ what he said. I'll activate mine at 2300 if the tires will hold, Nice times BTW I was following along with your thread on Yellowbullet car runs really well for a low comp motor!

cool thanks guys for the replies just need it to hit harder off the line.Do you think it has enough for a high ten second pass

Call me crazy, but on 3 different cars I have owned with nitrous, I would hit the juice (on a button) a split second before I actually hit the throttle...LOL! For just an instant, the engine would rev up, I would floor it and I was gone.

That was back in my younger, dumber years though. Don't think I would do that anymore...haha. [-X

I have mine on a WOT switch and in most instances will leave from idle and just floor it and never had any problems
