how much rear differential fluid?

I can't get the fill plug out so I'm gonna fill the top seal pan hole. Does anyone know about how much fluid I need to put in? 1979 malibu stock 2 door. Thanks -Spencer

Dry somewhere around a bottle and 1/2 to 2 if I remember wright. You really need to get the plug out to do it wright.

1.5-2 quarts...little extra will not hurt... to little and your doomed. TOO much IT WILL START SHOOTING OUT THE VENT PLUG BREATHER IN THE CENTER SECTION CASTING.
