I used Landau top foam one the ones I've done, and all of them are still holding up some 15+ yrs now. If you have a upholstery shop around you, they might have a piece of scrap foam they'd give ya.

Junior, the bulk material is nonadhesive. What did you use to glue it in place?
I was considering 1/8" thick self adhesive tape, like this, since it is only needed on the edges.

You could probably use 3M spray adhesive. If you look at the stuff that I found its the same as the foam that Junior suggested. Try it, its not that expensive.

I lightly roughed up one side of it, and used 3M weather strip adhesive. The stuff in your link will work also.
