i am currently changing transmissions going to a th400 trans out of a motorhome with 45000 miles on it it has the style of yoke that is bolted on to the end of it, My question is if i take that yoke out after unbolting it can i put a regular th400 slip yoke into that transmission cause i tried to order 1 from summit racing equipment and the guy there said that i can't do that because it wouldn't fit right cause there is a difference between light truck th400 and passenger car th400 and with all the research i have been doing i can't seem to find that anywhere and i haven't contacted any trans shops yet to ask this question yet because i just now started pricing and checking on yokes so this wonderful process is just gettin started any info you guys might have would be greatly appreciated thanks.

as far as I can tell from what I have in my slip yoke book, the truck yokes that are fixed have a larger ground hub(seal) diameter. And I cannot find an actual slip with that dimension.

I don't know about the yoke. But the tail shaft is longer on truck (and big car)400s than car 400s I think.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I contacted a trans shop and th400's out of motorhomes are the same as cars as long as they do NOT have the emergency brake drum on the drive line at the tail shaft housing end which mine does not because the shaft housing is much bigger on that particular type rather than just the standard housing so whew that helps thank you for all of your replys.

I run a truck style 400, you need the longer yoke to go over the O-ring on the shaft (8" yoke).

You can also find them for 1350 series too.
