So there are a few posts floating around about swapping a B-Body 8.5 in, but I can't find any of the posts by searching... b-body returns nothing, 8.5 is ignored in the search, etc... :-({|=

Try searching for "Caprice"..

I am not sure if the link will work.

I tried Caprice too... there are quite a few caprice posts too, but I don't know if the word Caprice is mentioned in the thread(s) I'm looking for... same with B-Body though I suppose.

That link is for one of them I believe, but there are a couple others. I know someone mentioned they got one to fit under their wagon I believe, but I just wanted to make sure.

The later models like 92 or so are like 62" or 64" wide hub to hub. Some of them have 5on5 bolt pattern. I'm not sure about the earlier models.

You gotta be careful with the b-body rears as the Impala-SS rearend is wider than the other b-body rears.

Also if it helps, the Caprice rear tread is 60.7"

They're wider, the arm mounts are on different angles, the bolt pattern is 5 on 5. I'm sure there's other dissimilarities. It's definitely not a plug-and-play swap.

I'm not too worried about width or bolt pattern, it would be narrowed to stock G-Body width and have aftermarket axles. I guess the main question was the upper ears, now I'm assuming I'll need spherical ends, or cut the original brackets out & weld ones in that are at the proper angle. Any idea where they are in relation to front/rear compared to a stock 7.5"?
