lock up kit ?

i was running a th350 i installed a 700r4 and it have a 4 pin plug on the left side for the lock up ... i really need a lock up kit for the converter or not ? and if i need one where i can buy a kit ?

Make your own the (2 left pins toward the front of the car) and a toggle switch. Don't forget to hook up the wire to the pressure switch on the V/B. Dont waste the money to buy one..... lame_sign.gif

Don't forget to unlock it when you get off of the highway. Some of the kits are made to kick out when you apply the brakes too.

My buddy put an additional high beam switch on the floor for his lock out. I thought it was a pretty cool idea.

Yes you absolutetly need operating lockup. With the 700 fluid flow to the cooler is reduced in OD. Without lockup the transmission will overheat due to converter slippage. There is an option to hydraulic lockup which I run in my 700 but not all 700 valve bodies except it. No 12v power source needed.

All I bought was the pigtail that has the four pins to plug into the transmission, picked up a new lock up solenoid and a toggle switch. Mounted it on the back of my plastic b&m shifter cover. Cuts about 2-300 rpm at cruising speed...
