LS swap transmission decisions

Hi Everyone, I just picked up an 04 LQ4 6.0 for my 81 wagon and contemplating transmission swap I currently have a older TH350 in it and wondering what issues may incur to run it with the LS or to swap for a 4L60e or newer setup. Thanks for your time.

You will need a transmission controller for a newer transmission. I just stuck with a built 350 until I can finish the 400. If you’re ls swapping go with a Holley terminator wire harness to alleviate the stress and troubles of trying to use the factory crap. If you go with 4l60 or 80 or something else they are 1299 plus but we’re taking about plug n play here.

Thanks for heads up I am also looking to swap the factoy intake with a custom one its currently got a drive by wire so would have to get a harness to work with that. I do have the factory harness with pedal but want to clean it up a bit

If you do decided to go 4l60e or 80e there are controllers in the 6-700.00 range. Plug n play
