Manual steering and brakes swap questions

I purchased a manual brake master cylinder for my 83 Malibu wagon. Is it the best master cylinder (factory 83 replacement) to use? I can trade back for something but what? I would prefer an all cast unit not aluminum and plastic. Or does it matter? What else do I need to do in this swap?
Also, what years of S10 can I rob the manual steering box from. I am converting the car to a budget bracket car so all help will be appreciated

My steering box is a 89 s10 and my master cylinder is 79 malibu manual but i wish my brakes were better.
