Okay.. I went with the one part Lab-Metal.. the window to work with it is very short.. :shock: I didn't add any solvent to it.. I could have but I didn't want to thin it out too much..
I started it on Saturday morning and let it dry over night.. I took off all the excess and used a grinder to take off the heavy stuff.. I look nice so far.. not too hard to deal with.. I will try to get a pic on here.. Now I'll just have to skim in some light bondo..
I am planning on leaving the vinyl off... I know that it gonna need alot of work.. but so far it looking way better that it did before. I don't know what the factory used 20+ years ago.. but it looked like a combo of fiberglass resin and bondo fillers.. what ever was on the shelf.. looks like there was some lead/tin filler also..either that or a really bad weld job.. it was probably built on a Friday afternoon.. :lol:
If anyone ever thought about trying it.. I think it is a nice thing to have around the shop.. It's metal in a can !! The easy way !!
