My first drag motor was a 406,flat-tops,.532-.554 solid cam,Victor Jr.,stock 750DP
excepts jets and jet extensions,350 turbo-shift kit,10" 4200 converter,4.10 gears,
29.5 tires.In a 67 Malibu at about 3200lbs.,shifts @ 6000,it ran mostly11.80-11.90's
and if I knew then, what I do now,it probably could have ran 11.50-11.60's.I think you
will be happy with it but, make sure you read up on prepping your heads and block for
cooling the 400 block properly or it may not last long, street or drag.John Lingenfelter
has a book out that I saw and explains exactly what to do and why to do it to a 400 block, your heads, and had a diagram you could show your shop to make sure it gets
done the way you want it done. It's nothing expensive, mostly a few extra holes in the right places to allow for better water flow but,a real neccessity if you want to street
drive it and keep it as cool as possible and will certainly make a difference at the track
as well.Hope it all goes well and you'll easily see high 11's if tuned properly and not in
a car that's maybe 3400 lbs. or so and heavier.Good luck,Bob in OH

She should run real hard in the 2500-5500 range due to the 106 LSA  . If it's street driven then the idle quality will suffer though.
