I have a 4 bolt main bare SBC with caps, original 4" bore, casting number 3970010. Mortec(?) website says this is a number matching block for a 1969 302 Z28.What would be the dollar amount if I sold it?

I don't think its that rare. 3970010 is a 4" bore casting used in a lot of applications. My 70 Nova has the same casting block in it.

Yeah, definitely not an uncommon casting number. Just about every older 350 I've seen has had that casting.

Since when could you get on Mortec? I haven't been able to get on there in months.

Doober, Mortec site is no more.
It is archived here>> http://classic-web.archive.org/web/20080518030656/http://www.mortec.com/
It's slow as Molasses tho'. Maybe Archived somewhere else.
ChevyMania is a good site, also has more Suffix Codes than most sites.

That's not one of the casting #s for a '69 302 & it would have to have a "DZ" stamping on the ID pad to be a 69 Z28 302. It's a casting # for 67-79 327 & 350, so there's a very remote possibility it could be a '70 Vette/Z28 LT1, but it would have to have a "CTB" "CTR", "CTU" or "CTV" stamping.
