There is no way my cable will fit through the motor mount or between the block and the mount, so I ran it along the pan rail with 2 clamps that I made. One is a rebent version of the original clamp that held the cable next to the motor mount.

The original cable is now too short, so I need one that is about 10 inches longer.

I bought a 50-inch cable (original was 35 inches). It is a little long, but it fits nicely.

I mounted another clamp on the frame.

I put some plastic sheathing around the cable near the motor mount and between the front oil pan rail clamp and the frame clamp.

I had to dye the top of the cable red, like the original, since it came black.

Also, the lug on the end had a lot of bare metal exposed, so I put some heavy duty shrink tubing (with glue inside) over that end to keep it free from arcing/touching something it should not.

Nice, glad you got it worked out. I had to do the same routing you did with my BBC Elky, and I used 1/0 cable!
