I swapped out my Q-jet for a Holley 4150 or 4160 (i cant tell and dont have the original paperwork for it). Does really well but my pedal is crazy stiff. I used what appeared to be factory style Holley linkage bracket. Is there anything i can do to take some of the pedal stiffness out? Any help would be greatly appreciated

If you swapped directly from a Q-jet with no other changes, the carb has to be a 4165/4175. I really don't know what to say about the stiff throttle pedal. Is the pedal or the carb stiff when the throttle cable is disconnected from the carb? If the pedal is stiff, you have to find out why. If the carb is stiff, the throttle plates may be sticking in the bores, the shafts could be bent or corroded.

I swapped the carb from my sons car (had a stiff pedal as well) because i wanted to see how a holley would work. The carb is only about 6 months old. I used an adapter plate to mate it to my intake but in hindsight I think my intake is universal for both spread and square bore carbs (has two sets of bolt holes for the carb). The Holley its self is a 4160. I was thinking the linkage bracket might be the wrong one and is putting the throttle cable in a bind because it doesnt appear to be laying straight. Almost like the bracket is too far back on the intake and forcing the cable to kinda hump up.

Might be.

Another common screw-up with a Holley is to put the throttle cable stud in the wrong hole. It goes here:

Everyone wants to put it in the bigger hole just below that, but that's not where it belongs. As you can see, that lower hole has a lot less leverage on the throttle arm than the proper hole.

Figured out what the issue was. It was the return spring's. They where a bit over kill and werent the ones that were used with my q-jet.
