If anyone could help me i would appreciate it . I have a 03 z71 and the truck started useing oil .Well number 7 cyl has has a cracked piston or damaged piston when i pulled the plug out it was dripping oil either way the engine has to come out . I have the oppertunity to buy an engine off someone he has a 2007 5.3 out of a suburban and i am curious if this ill work in my 03 truck . It has been rebuilt because it was useing oil and i can get it for a good price . But will it work ?

No it won't work. cam sensor is different, knock sensors are different, and its possible that the 07 5.3 will have afm
Right because 07 should have started VVT or whatever its called. I'd look from 99-06 in all the trucks, but if you get a different sized motor ect, you may want to reflash a computer as well.
I think all the differences can be swapped out, I know they can. check out ls1truck.com
