i gotta do my brakes in the spring. the problem is, i got a 9" rear and i have no clue what brakes are on there. the drums are smooth, not finned, so i'm assuming they're ford brakes, but from what? the rear has the small ford ends on it, so that should narrow it down, but still don't know where to start. i don't want to do a disc conversion(at least not yet). anyone know what brakes these are or maybe how i can find out? thanx, G

They are from a Ford. lol

Try maybe a Granada. Are yours off? Take one in and match it with a few from Ford cars and maybe a truck just to see.

Mega I think those are the 9" brakes. We always had the big Ford brakes found on the vans and such. They were 11". I think the 9" brakes were on the F-100's and 150's. Is it a 28 spline?

no, it has 31 spline axles. but it does have the small ends, this i have confirmed. i just need to find out what to ask for when i go to the parts store to get the stuff i need. they're gonna want a year, make, & model, and i'm gonna need one to give them. i'll also need to redrill the drums for the 4.75" bolt circle.

they should be 10 inch. the problem is they made 10x1 3/4, 10x2 and 10x2 1/2. if you measure the width of the shoe i can get you a part number. just went through this.

i can't get to it to pull the rear wheels off, so it'll have to wait til winter's over. i'll remember your offer, though! thanx!
