I have an 8.5" rear I am working on to install in my Malibu. I plan on ordering this weld on disc brake kit from speedway motors:

Now, my question is, which backspace brake hat should I order (3" or 1.96")? It seems to me I have read a post by someone else on here where they had caliper/frame interference with the 3" backspace hat, but I'm not sure. ANYONE?
BTW: The rear will be the stock G-body width.
