I just installed 9 inch housing out of 55 ford 500. The housing was the exact width as original but the center section is offset towards driver side. Now my problem is my sway bar wont fit and thought I had seen one in the aftermarket that had a shape that would accomadate this. Any help on this would be appreciated. Also this car is mainly street driven but would like to take it to strip once in awhile. I found the addco 292 bar may work. Any thoughts?

Some of the G-body's had a rear bar that just bolted to the lower control arms, and kicked out toward the back of the housing and went strait across. Instead of following the contours of the rear. I used to have one of those things. I'd have to check. The down side is the ones I seen and owned weren't the biggest. But I guess it is better than nothing!

Hey, I'm now in the same boat as you, i just installed a 9" and my factory sway bar don't fit. Did the addco bar work? I also found that edelbrock has a nice looking bar that isn't to exspensive. I'm sure lots of guys have the 9" and will know what works. thanks

That frame is entirely too pretty to be under a dd. BTW, the control arm bolts look a few threads too short.

there's one in every crowd,i'd like to find out how to fix this problem,i'd perfer to run without those plates.i bought a rear end from a guy years ago that had a regal with two swaybars in the back, one mounted like mine and the other that didn't follow under the rear end it went behind it.i've never seen it before.i'm not impressed by the two bars just the one that went behind it all.he had two in the front too.i never asked him why.i wonder if his car flips over when he hits a bump?

When I did mine I put the front bolts in and pull the sway bay down till the clearance was good and redrilled the back holes in the lower control arm.

Just busting your chops man. I work on aircraft, so we are picky with stuff like that.

I had one of the bars that went behind the rear, but it was only like 3/4". I tossed it a while back I think. I upgraded to a 1inch bar on the Elky it was on.
