i looked high and low for this answer too,i talked to a bunch of people to strip my grille so i could paint it,even the folks that chrome plastic wouldn't/couldn't help me.the only thing i found that kinddaaaaa helped was a chrome shop took it,and dipped it in something to soften it a little. i don't know what it was they used, but that guy at the shop treated me not so good so i got it back but they did soften the copper,nickel,chrome coating enough to the point where when i spent the summer sandblasting it the coatings were soft enough where the blasting would allow it to come loose on the edges-outsides and i was able to pull it off in sheets with pliers.it was very very time consuming.but very very worth it
