well heres the scoop. my starter Powermaster mini starter. i accidently cross threaded the ignition bolt on the starter. so when i would tighten the bolt the entire screw would turn with the nut. well this broke an inside wire from the Screw so i soddered it back together, but now its got a weak signal.. it kinda has a hesitation when i try to crank it, and a lil clicking noise. I used regular solder ... should i let it go for now or do u think it'll break and not work? or should i yank her and take it to a starter place and have it reworked???

Pics? It's been a while since I took an old starter of mine apart. There's a chance you may be able to replace that whole wire with a new one (taking the starter apart further than you had previously), but I can't say for sure. I'm always one to tear things apart & try to fix 'em (usually when I can't is only when I don't have the know-how or the tools for it), and if I can't I take it someplace I know can... :p

i took the rear cover off, and soldered the lil wire to the terminal,, but i dont think its a good solid connection.

thats a riot, I did the same exact thing with the smaller terminal on my Powermaster mini starter the other night as well. Sodered it back together, and i MIGHT have done the same thing with the bigger terminal when I was re-installing it! DAMNIT! How'd you wind up making out?
