Hi Tom...good to here from you! Glad to hear you are getting yourself healthy...first priority in life. As everyone says, Facebook has taken over from this page, and every other forum, as well. Kinda depressing actually. I rarely come on here anymore, as it is very slow...post few and far between. Use to be you'd post a question or comment, and it would be answered while you were still logged in. Now it could be months. As far as where all the old threads are...evidently when a thread sits idle for 1 year, it disappears. I found that out with my sons '83 Monte build thread. 30-something pages of posts, and it's gone. Guys used to use that for reference on their own builds, but as Nicholas Cage says in "The Rock"...Vaporized! :). I don't have my Malibu anymore, but I found it after many years in NJ, and almost bought it back, but despite it being relatively nice for being built many years ago, but wanted too much $$ for something I know I'd probably blow apart and freshen back up and update. My son's both still have their Father/Son builds. Chad turned his 'Bu into an autocross car from more of a drag car (mid 10's his first time down the strip). Brett's twin turbo Monte is still being shown, has'nt drag raced it yet, but hopes to this summer. And instead of me buying my Malibu back, I bought my wife a low mileage (20,000 miles) Pontiac Solstice. I figured she deserved it after 3 builds in a row. As they say "happy wife, happy life"... :).

Hey I'm still around! I just haven't visited a forum since... well... the Facebook boom.

For better or worse I made a group and labeled it MR with the same banner in hopes people would use both the forum and FB... instead it's grown a mind of its own and currently it's at 13,900 members!!! Social media seems to have taken over like these types of forums took over from message boards (remember when MR was a board? Anybody remember Todd Geisler's site MalibuLightning? I think that was his page anyway). People are requesting to join almost every day - sometimes there are spammers which is why I added the request route, but people are good about reporting - and it's very active.

I looked at the MR fb page a while ago, didn't have to log in. I don't care for social media much. I have no facebook, no twitter, no instagram, notta.... The page looks like it is pretty active, but I very much prefer the forum. Oh well, too bad I guess.

Your build threads were some of the best I have ever seen, along with Todd's beautiful Malibu that has to be one of the cleanest drag cars in existence. Glad to hear the both Chad and Brett still have their cars and are enjoying them. Thank you for posting in my thread, it was really great to hear from you.

I also saw that Paul Ferruci with the pink Malibu is battling pancreatic cancer. My prayers go out to he and his family, and I think they have it set up where you can donate to help with his battle.

Since many people have FB, you get a lot of members, but you also get a lot of jerk offs. Forums help keep that number down. I prefer forums ;) and yes I'm old LOL

I think it's public to view but you have to join... spammers kept joining while it was open to everyone and ads for phones, clothes and other useless stuff... likely bots. I made it join by request to cut down on that number.
I sent a request there doober
