Got in another session at Piedmont(different than before) today. Got five passes focusing on the tree. In order my lights were .047, .028, .006, .022, .015. Best ET was 7.599 @ 89.31 mph. 60's were off a bit but their starting line was unusually spotty and chewed up.

Update; got another TnT at Rox Saturday and met Purple Barney, great guy. Although I couldn't hit the tree for ****, the car did it's job with five passes of; 7.687, 7.673, 7.678, 7.665, & 7.676 the best 60' being a 1.580. Temp was much warmer, into the mid 70's. Barney tossed out a couple of 7.38's to upstage me in front of my peeps. [-X  :-k [-(

Your car works really well to get that 60'. I have the same mph but my 60's are always 1.7's. I changed converters and added an airbag I hope I can get my 60's down this year. What gear do you have?

Have a 4.10 now but was doin' the same with a 3.73 before shredding the limited slip. Both were with a 28" drag radial. I have a 3000 convertor and leave at 1400. The main tricks are an air bag at about 18-20psi and to alter the instant center to bring it further back than stock. Stiff arms and bushings too. I have a pinion snubber too but don't think hits anymore.

Do you have any info on how this is done?

There are two ways with some variation on the methods. First(which I have done) is to raise the mounting point of the upper control arm where it attaches to the ears on top of the housing. This angles the upper arm downward in relation to the stock angle. No hop bars do this and Dick Miller has a version that is a little different but accomplishes the same thing. The second is to lower the mounting point of the lower control arm where it attaches to the axle housing to change the angle more upward than stock. BMR sells a bracket to do this with your existing arms and someone else sells an arm with the lowering extension built into it. The easiest way to envision an instant center point is to look at a ladder bar. The IC is always the pivot attachment point where it mounts to the frame. Looking at the bar from the side you can see that the two main bars(from the axle to the pivot) are essentially like the two control arms of a four link as far as angles. Since four link arms don't actually meet, imagine where they would meet if they continued forward past their respective mounting points on the frame.

Hey y'all, snuck in one more TnT before Saturdays 1st race. Made four passes tonight with the new Hoosier drag radials that arrived today \:D/ . 60's in order were 1.589, 1.589, 1.593(other lane), and 1.584(temp cooled off). ET's were 7.641, 7.653, 7.647, and 7.617(cooler-need to remember this). I actually hit the tree 3 out of 4 times .014, .077, .016, and .011 dancin_banana.gif . Can't wait for Saturday.
