trans sending unit

I have a tb350 and it has what looks like a sending unit on the side with two prongs coming out, what is that for. a temp gauge ?

I think its for the backup lights. Not sure though.

I think its for the converter lock up.The transmission might be a 350 lock up.

i think the back ups are mounted on the steering column, whats a lock up 350?

its a lockup.

converter wont slip. lockup is just pretty much for highway cruising, helps with saving fuel.

I have a 3000 stall converter in it now and the "lockup" unit isn't hooked up ,should i hook it up or leave it unhooked?

Make sure that converter is for a lockup.

I don't think the converter is a lock up, what would happen if i hooked it up with this converter?

I'm thinking its not the lockup unit, this sending unit is on the pasenger side not the drivers side like other lock ups i am told.
