can anyone help me with some info

i change transmission went from tb350 to tb400 and had another drive shaft but not sure if have enough yoke in transmission

yoke has 3 1\4 machine surface but only goes in transmission 1 1\2"
not sure if this counts or not but transmission shaft sticks out of transmission 5\8"
if you add that to the 1 1\2 its on transmission shaft 2 1\8"

will that be enough or do i need more

incase you need info on car to help, its about a 500 horse small block, no trans brake and a ford 9" 4.56 gears
and slicks, and is strip only no street time.

thank you for any help

I don't think you have enough myself, what I generally do is slide the slip yoke in the transmission as far as it'll go and pull it out about 1/2" then measure center to center from there and it's always worked for me,any drive line shop will tell you to measure from the end of the trans output shaft to the flange/center of the rearend U jount and they'll make the driveshaft accordingly, the way I measure and the way they do always seems to be within about 1/4" or so,drive shafts are a very important part of the equasion as is the fitment of the yoke to the transmission and is not a place to cut corners or try to save money!
Hope it helps! Later,KillerDave
