sorry for the seeminly stupid question. I have a "like new" set of slicks with tubes I need taken off of some steel GM rims. I have even verbally waivered any damage liability. But no tire shop is willing to take them off. HELP!!!! The slicks only have 10 runs on them.

k here is the most redneck way but itll work, you take a 2x4 bout 4 feet long you put it on one side of the bead near the rim whiles its lying on the ground you drive your car up on it(the 2x4)to push down"break the bead" flip tire over repeat for other bead(side) the use some tire irons or similar tools to work the bead off the rim when loose and a dont forget to take the air outta the tire heh

Search for speedshops, chassis shops, roundy round etc. in your area. They will know where to go.

Use a pumper jack.place the rim and tire under the jack.Place the back of the jack base right at the edge of the tire .Place the jack at the front of the car at a slight lean so the top of the jack is facing away from the car and the base of the jack is digging in to the tire bead.Jack up the car ,the bead will come down with the tire baerly of the ground.Sometimes they can be hard but turn the tire and keep trying it will go.

The bumper jack idea works good, I've done it several time's myself . not sure how it will work if the side wall is very soft. a custom wheel shop should be happy to dismount em for ya, the new type tire machine's that dont touch the wheel work good on em, thats what I use now that I have access to one !
