what backspacing should i run on the big brake conversion what size rims do you have luck with ...Thanks

I assume you are talking the B-body spindles, etc...

I run a 17x8 up front with a 245-45 and 4.75" of backspacing. If I had it to do over, id go 5".

That might require the XH steering box, not sure though.

388bu hit it right on the mark. I run a 17x8 with a 5" backspace and a 245/45r17 tire. Absolutely no clearance issues with the stock steering box. Before I installed the 17" wheels I had a 15x8 with a 4" backspace. It would rub the upper part of the fender lips. And they stuck out further than the rears. It was still drivable, but you had to be careful going over real big dips in the road.

so no matter what size rim i run i should stick with the 5" backspacing..?Thanks guys

With a smaller diameter wheel such as a 15" you may run into tie rod clearance issues. I am not positive though. Just something to look at.
