Ok Im trying to get this thing dropped in. Im waiting on a few minor parts but I have a few questions. I plan on using the stock SBC motor mounts with adapter plates. My question is what adapter plates should I use with the LH8 pan and the 2004r transmission? Should I set the engine with the transmission in the stock location and adjust the engine accordingly? Is there an adapter plate that will allow me to do this or will I have to custom fab some. I know some guys have used the Trans Dapt plates with their swaps but they are using the truck pan. Im not sure of the diffrences in the dimentions(sp) of the truck pan and the LH8 pan.

Ok after a ton of readin I have found to use the adapter plates and bolt the stock motor mounts to the engine. Next set the engine and trans in with the trans in the stock location. Once I get it all set in, drill new holes for the frame mounts. Thi swill allow me to retain my stock crossmember and driveshaft and give me plenty clearance with the steering box.
