I have a 427, cast crank, 10.2 compression, solid cam, TH 400, 3000 stall, 4.10 gears, no power adders. Previous owner ran 30 x 9.0 x 15 Goodyears @ 12.40, 107 mph, tach is set on 6000 rpm shift light, I bought the car from an estate sell so I can't ask the previous owner what his trap RPMs were.
I need to buy new slicks but I am concerned with RPMs at the top end. I'm thinking I want to stay below 6500rpms. I'm considering running 28 x 9.0 x 15 Goodyears.

What RPMs are fellas running with your BBC and 4.10 gears with what tire size?

Thanks, Gene

WOW A CAST CRANK 427.........I used to have several 427s back in the day
and generally they are high revving motors - I used to pull 7800 all day long street or strip - 2 bolt mains, truck rods and steel crank and 488 gears on a 29" tire..
with your gearing Id run a 10x28 and see if your motor will pull to the low side of 7000RPM
