I have 15x8 on my 78 El camino with four inches of back spacing all stock, tires are 275/60.

I have 15X8 with 4.5" back spacing and 275-60-15's. I have added 7/32" spacers keep it from rubbing the frame. I haven't driven it much yet but it looks like it will be fine with the stock lip as well.
