Will they fit without intensive mods?

I have a '78 Malibu, 10 bolt rear with drums, no frame notch or rolled wells. I need to fit a pair of 295/65/15 BfGoodrich Drag Radials, Does anyone know what wheel backspacing I need? Or do I have to notch the frame? I am not looking to go that far. Thanks.

i have 15 x 10 wheels with 295-50-15 i have mr gasket wheel spacers and have an air bag set up not air suspension the 80.00 dollar air bag kit that summit has i do not have my frame notch and dont know the backspacing off -hand another thing is i measure backspace on a malibu factory rally wheel it is 3.50 inches and lastly i do not race my car hope this helps

i have no idea on drag radials i was going by the tire size in your post 295-65-15 they must be close to my tires i have futura super sport

a 295 65 is alot taller than a 295 50. if you wanna jack the rear of the car up and run a 3.5 offset 10 inch wide wheel and have the old tail up stance, than i guess they "fit" but i don't think you can tuck them under the car without some mods. try a 275 60 on an 8 inch rim and trim the lip inside the wheel housing. use 3.5 inch b.s. and should be o.k.. that is what most guys run.

I was referring to the 295/65/15's in a BFG drag radial. Reason being, I know they make a 275 drag radial, and that will fit without a notch. 295's in something like a M/T drag radial is MASSIVE. Drag radials tend to be much larger in overall size than a regular tire with equal designations, particularly section width, which is really the deciding factor in these cars.
