Can somebody tell me how the inner felts are stapled to the upper door panel please. Don, 83 el camino

I know there stapled but what kind of staple gun will go thru the metal backing!

i would try using a staple gun but put a peice of wood behind it then pull off the wood and bend over the staple? :-k

I would imagine that GM had a very specialized machine to do that very job,I have a new fan shroud that showed up in two peices and looking at my original it also has staples,I think what I'm going to do will be to straighten the staples on the original shroud and drill holes to match in the new shroud and carefully install and crimp them with whatever type of pliers work the best and would probably would do the same thing in your situation because I don't think you'll find a stapler that will do that job! hey killerdave dont know if this is an option but using self thread screws would be easier and can take apart whenever you need to some factory shrouds came with screws but they also used metal threaded clips G/L

I think when I replaced mine it came with new staples and used the original holes and then just bent the new staple over.
Its been a while and im old.haha

I don't see why not. Maybe with a washer if its not a tight fit.
