IMO the GMPP intake is the better choice for this motor.

Feel free to ask any questions.
Good luck with your project.
Mike

Will this intake clear a stock hood with a drop base and a short filter? And for a more street less strip car, you still like the single plane over say a rpm airgap?

Thanks for the p.m. about the zz383 that you sent me earlier this year 8)

Clears the stock hood fine. I have run both intakes on mine. Originally the Air-Gap and then switched to the GMPP Single plane. My car performed better with the single plane with no sacrifice that I could tell on the bottom end. Although I loosened up the converter at the same time, went from a 2800 to a 3600.

ZZ383-Headers

Schoenfeld has a set of headers for the Fast Burn heads. Says they will fit a 72-87 Monte Carlo,Pontiac Grand Prix,Olds Cutlass, Buick Regal. They're 1 3/4"-3 1/2 x 8" for a Street Stock. Will these fit a Malibu? Only problem is they don't have flanges. No big deal. Thanks. Matt

Sounds like the ticket. How much are they? Probaby don't need that big of collector, though.

ZZ383-Headers

They're $169.95 on the Schoenfeld website. That's the only size collector they show with the 1 3/4" tubes. They do show another set with the 3" collector but they are a stepped header (1 5/8-1 3/4). I don't know if a guy can buy directly from Schoenfeld. I'll try and call them tomorrow. Thanks. Matt

I just looked at Schoenfelds website and they say under "new products"that you can get the fastburn flange on any of there headers. This is the route I would go now, order there 1 3/4"g-body headers with a 3"collector and fastburn flange. Price is right! :D

Any ideas for a good reolacement head for the Fastburns for a street only ZZ383 with a Performer RPM intake, 350 and 3.42 gears?
:D

That was me with these Hedman Huslers on my Edelbrock E-Tec 200 (Vortec-style heads):

I filled the holes and redrilled them down .200", and I cleaned up the ports before having them ceramic coated.

If you don't do these mods, your headers block the highest-flowing part of the exhaust, and you lose power. Even more in a forced induction motor. Check them, and the gaskets, and fix any problems before you use them.

It pays off in the long run.

Jim

I knew someone on here did that, but couldn't remember who. Thanks for posting that, Jim.

I called Schoenfeld today & they tell me that the 186CM headers for G body cars will not fit if the factory AC box is still on the car. And if you have an oil pan with a kickout of 3.5" or more they will hit the headers. F%$#! I was really hoping these would fit with my LT1. I am running out of leads. I called Hedman also & they told me the 1 3/4" ones will not fit the G body with factory AC box too. But I have seen pics that show it fits fine. Wish I could find someone close to Indianapolis that had a set of each to check.
