    NEED HELP 350TBI

That could have something to do with the valving on the trans from the sounds of it. '95 is cable operated, correct? If so, I would imagine there is some adjustment down where the bracket is holding the cable, it's been a long time since I looked at one.

How many miles before a rebuild.

Trust me, anything is better than that anemic thing you got in there right now!

How many miles before a rebuild.

Also Losty, another way to think is that you can do the swap and not worry about it too much for now, just get it together and running, that's the hardest part. All the internal stuff can be done later, then it's just bolt-and-go.

How many miles before a rebuild.

Drive the sucker :D My dad's '03 has about 170k on it and it's still goin' strong. I'd say if it's still running good, put it in & let it eat. Worse case scenario you'll have to pull it out for maybe rings, but that's only if it fails a leakdown test (I'm kinda doubtful on it failing right...

    putting a T5 into a G body

Also check out t5montecarlo's page (www.garage-scene.com) for info. I seem to recall there being issues with the stock F-Body hydraulic housing vs. headers, but don't remember for sure.

    Monte SS rearend

I've been beating on my stock 7.5 for 2 summers now, 350+hp without issue.

    Monte SS rearend

They probably changed to 7.625" when the rest of them (S10/F-Body) changed.

    Monte SS rearend

Yeah, Monte rears are the same as the rest of the G-Body 7.5s, just had a steeper gear because of o/d + performance.

    1997 TBI

I'm pretty sure it's doable, just a question of how much $$$$$$$ you want to spend.

    Cams vs. EFI

My main thought was about the MAP sensor. I'm not sure what this one pulls, but it operates the stock brakes fine... I have a gauge for testing vacuum, should give it a look one day. I'd imagine I could at least get it to run, then go from there. If I go this route (which I very well may when...

Throttle body V6 to V8 conversion question.......

    My full frame notching

That's what I was thinkin'. I'm guessing they don't have ruling that's as strict (if at all).

    1997 TBI

Get ahold of ECLT, he put a Vortec 4.3 (should be the same thing you have) in his Elky with a 4-speed. I'm not sure if it's running yet, but he's the first one that came to mind.

    front lower controle arms

Imho I don't think the S10 spindles or arms lower it, but it's not something I've tried and know for sure. I put a set of spindles on mine that are supposed to be for lowering both S10 and G-Body 2".

    front lower controle arms

Where would 2" drop come from? Far as I knew they interchanged without any change in geometry/height.

Things I'd do different if I did another LT1 swap

Are the Caprice/Impala lines all 1-piece back to the tank area? I've never looked at them, but I'd imagine (like I'd mentioned previously) you could run OE lines from a TBI Monte, cut them back if needed (flare them again for the OE fittings), and run some factory-clamped high pressure rubber...

Things I'd do different if I did another LT1 swap

The lines for TBI should come up in basically the same spot on the motor no matter what car it's from. If the lines just connected to the TBI lines there would be no bending required.

Things I'd do different if I did another LT1 swap

Impalas/Caprices ran the TBI and LT motors, depending on the year. To make the conversion from TBI to LT slightly easier I'm guessing they used adapter lines to plumb the newer intake.

    4.8 to 200r4?

I wouldn't be surprised to see TV cables to run with LS motors. I don't believe you can simply run the lockup from the computer, but it's simple enough to wire up a lockup circuit using a relay and vacuum switch.
