Is it possible to replace the hard line from the fuel pump to the carburetor without removing the water pump?

Reading Plugs in Kohler V Twin

My Kohler 25-hp V twin started acting up this year (the engine is 13 years old and has only been used for my property, never for commercial use). The first time I started it up, it gave out a large blue smoke cloud that I thought dissipated until I set it to full throttle and began cutting the...

    Strip Caulk

The 1978 and 1986 shop manual refer to applying strip caulk to the top and sides of the AC and heater box, where it meets the firewall. The factory sealer is extremely hard, and was could only be removed by chipping/cracking it into pieces. There used to be a topic on this subject but it has...

    Soaking Solultion to Remove Rust

I had researched the commercial solutions that will remove rust by soaking in a solution overnight. All had reviews that were not overwhelming and some reviewers reported having better success with vinegar. I tried 5% distilled white vinegar for a week, but perhaps a shorter time would have been...

    Non AC Heat-Only Box Disassembly

I am trying to disassembly my heat-only box and having some difficulty. It needs to be completely disassembled to thoroughly clean, because it was inhabited by mice and smells bad. A lever for one of the doors needs to be remove from the door in order to separate 2 halves of the box. The hole...

Sudden Continuous Screetching Sound at Left Front Wheel

On Friday, I went for a drive and all of a sudden I heard a sound like scratching a chalk board. I had just changed my PS belt, so I pulled over and all belts were there. I moved on and the sound was was still there. Applying the brakes did not stop the sound, but moving the steering left/right...

    HVAC Door Foam Replacement

I am refurbishing my non-AC heater box and want opinions on what to use on the doors that used to contain rotten foam. Without some sort of seal, the doors will leak. Please let me know your thoughts.

Can anyone identify these radio knobs?

I have had these knobs for decades, but I no longer remember what vehicle they belong to. They are quite heavy; they weigh 1 ounce each. They are 1 inch in diameter. They don't have any part numbers on them.

    Clutch Fork Spring Clip Rivet

Do you think the rivet that holds the spring clip to a clutch fork is a standard hardware store item? The hole in the spring is just a tad larger than 3/16 inches in diameter (about 0.21 inches), so I assume the rivet is 3/16. I would rather not use a nut/bolt combination.

    Malibu Clutch Fork Dimension

If anyone has a good 1978-1981 clutch fork, I am interested in knowing the distance between the center of the ballstud pocket and the center of the lower pushrod pocket (+/- 1/8 inch).

    "Replacement" brand parts

Has anyone ever had any experience with a brand named "Replacement"? The images of their parts look very similar to the Dorman parts, but for less money.

    Power for Heated O2 Sensor

I need to find the most appropriate under-hood "ignition on" power source for my heated O2 sensor. Looking at the wiring diagrams, I came up with the brown wire (10 amp fuse in panel) that feeds the oil pressure switch (the other side of the switch is the blue wire for the heated choke and tan...

    Pathway for Positive Battery Cable

With my new headers, Hedman recommends routing a longer battery cable through the motor mount. I have my battery in the engine bay and have no interest in moving it to the trunk. Has anyone else run the battery cable through the motor mount or some other pathway to the starter? It is clear that...

    L69 vs. Roller Cam

Is a 1986 L69 roller cam ready? They came with a flat tappet cam, but I wonder if they are already prepped for a roller cam. 1986 was the first year for the 1-piece rear main seal, but still uses the perimeter bolt valve covers, so it is a bit of an oddball year.

Black Power Window/Lock Switches and Remote Mirror Controls

What application uses black power lock switches, and black remote mirror controls like the ones in this picture? They look identical to the chrome ones, but in black. I have the same question about the door opener handle. Marc
