If you want to tuck 20s, you'll need that much BS (and might need a notch). Otherwise, I like 4.5 all around if you aren't running a meaty tire.

I'm running a 17x7 and 17x8 on my bu with a 3.5" B.S. Havnt installed them yet but i wanna run a 245/45 front and a 255/45 rear. according to centerline they would fit fine. I got the 3.5" offset cause i wanted more of a lip.

I just put my 17x8's on my lowered wagon in the front with 4.5" BS and they rub BAD!!!!

wow I forgot about even posting to that one let alone reply, sorry, my car is a little different than most, everything has been modified in one way or another to make things fit, kmc didn't offer this wheel in a 4.5 bs so i got 5, now, my 17x8's I used to run had a 4.5 bs with a 205/40 now I have 20x8 with a 5" bs and my rim is actually closer to the fender than it was with a 4.5 bs.my overall tire height is 26.5" and I have 3/4" between th rim face/lip and the inside roll of the fender compare fit on the pics below and you'll see what I mean....sawzall/plasma lovers enjoy
