I have a elky that the th350 took a crap on me but I have a good 700r4. The issue that Im having is the car has 2.28 rear end gears will the 700r4 work with that gear ratio or is it to high and it will burn the transmission up or something.

My malibu with 2.41 gears and 26" tall tires ran around 1200 rpm with the convertor locked up. I don't know about burning anything up but the motor surely didn't like it. Lot of lugging.
