8.5" rear with Moser C clip 28 spline n transbrake

I just had my new 4-STBE tans installed w/ tansbrake, worth every cent. Anyway will my 8.5" with Moser 28 spline C clip axels hold up to a 4500 tans brake launch? I will eventually upgrade my rear but I want to try the brake a few times to get used to it. Thanks in advance

It really depends on what kind of power your putting down, but I would be worried about snapping an axle. and with just c-clips you could be sending a wheel into the other lane. putting other people in danger and yourself...but we all know we just want to play with our new toys...So, should you do it? Probably not for long...but would I do it a few times..Heck yes I would.

Any updates on this? Im running the same setup but I have c clip eliminators but no trans brake. Curious what kind of hp this might hold?

i wouldn't worry about besides putting c clip elimantors in it me and my buddy has used them with a 700 hp bbc and 650 hp sbc leaving at 4500 off the brake with no problem my buddy is going to use it in a 900hp bbc with 300hp of nitrous. if you look at the specs between a 12 bolt that is suppose to be so strong the 10 8.5 pinion is only .125" smaller then the 12 bolt and a 9in pinion is smaller then a 7.5" 10 bolt so the 8.5" is a stout rearend i wouldn't be afraid at all

8.875" 'Car' 12-Bolt & 8.5" 10-Bolt Pinions are the same size @1.625", the Ring Gear is .375" or 3/8" smaller.
The 7.5" & 8.2" 10-Bolt and 8.875" 'Truck' 12-Bolt Pinion is 1.438", .187" or 3/16" smaller.
I'll never understand why the 'Truck' 12-Bolt got that small Pinion. :-k :?

I was more curious of the 28 spline moser c clip axles and what hp they would hold in the real world. Moser told me to put 33 spline in it and be done with it. Now Im on the fence if I should sell the axles,c clips and posi unit. Im shooting for a 650+ hp bbc, th400 but no trans brake.
