And WHAT ABOUT THE SHOCKS??? You say you re drilled the uppers? So you left them the same length? I would LOVE to see pictures of this rear in the car. Jim

The picture that was given on the craig's list link. The front diff is a 73-77 A-body and the rear axle (rear end) is a 68-72 era.

Those 2 rears are totally different the way they mount the uppers, spring perch mount, shock mount width, and so on.

So send up those picks and show us what you did. Jim

The upper control arms are going to have to be changed too. Just a lot of work if you are not into fabricating too. much.
We have been trying to over come the money issue for getting a rear put together, BUT it is just impossible to get something SO cheap you all can afford and fit like stock rear. Housing and axle package with upper control arms etc. I like to get everything correct in one package...the cost just seems to be too much for you guys. I guess it seems you would all rather have a 1/2 hokey rear set-up.

Were still trying ... 8.8 is next.

the shocks bolt right up....i dont think we are on the same page...so is not worth explaning...I know your the rearend expert but we must be talking about different rears. this is my old car with the "bolt-in" 77 gp rear...A-body.
