I was gonna let yall know that I just came back from the salvage yard today.(a upull it).I purchased a 1988 cougar xr7 8.8 with 3.08 gears(had no axles),went back over there and got 2 left side axles from a ranger that worked in that rear.(they are 28 spline.
While I was there,I found a eddie bauor(? on spelling) edition explorer,94 I think.It had a 4.10 gear with 31 spline axles.I got the chunk and the left axle and found another 4.10 rear end and got the left axle out of it.
So I have I hope enough to start on.the cougar rear end has smaller brake shoes and the explorer has larger ones.So I got a pair of drums from a regular explorer and a pair of drums from a grand marq.
I hope some where in this I can make something work.
the rearend was 69.00,the axles are 18.00,the chunk was 30.00 dont know about the rest of it.
This is what I have to start with,so lets see how it goes.I will get pics on here tomorrow.thanks kenny
