Our local radio station runs a nightly program where you can list up to 2 items for sale.
Randomly about two weeks ago my brother overheard a listing for a 5.3 chevy engine and auto trans for a decent price
He got a number and gave it to me knowing I have been planning a swap.
I called and was told about the engine, trans and such
I finally made the drive to check it out the other day and was suprised that it was a 4l80e trans
that came out of a 2wd 3/4 ton..... The engine came out of the same truck. I figured it would be a cost effective swap using the 5.3 instead of doing the 6.0 that I had planned on.
I picked up the combo and brought it home...
Fast forward to tonight.
I was kind of bummed when I removed the trans from the engine and one of the ears is broke off :cry: (although it is easily repairable)
But that sadness turned to :shock: when I read the casting number on the engine...
It reads.

and below it behind the edge of the flywheel reads
6.0L
what I ended up with is an LQ4 =) =D> cool.gif
