Alternator question

I have a core (10si) alternator that I would like to have rebuilt and have it upgraded to 100 amps or so.
I have seen a kit on Jeg's site.

Is this something that I can accomplish myself? My current alternator screeches when I run too many accessories at once..so I know this unit does not put out enough amps.
I'm open to advice and suggestions.

Yeah Jack, it is real easy...i did one awhile back...turned out fine...
