Aluminum Wire

How much of our cars are wired with aluminum wire? I haven't done a lot of hacking on this car yet, but it's coming to where I have to make small repairs or previsions to the electrical system and I'm somewhat taken aback by all the aluminum wire I'm finding. I noticed today that even the battery cables are copper clad aluminum. :?

Then you're not looking close enough. I think some of the tail light wiring is aluminum, but I don't want to start pulling at it until I'm ready to replace it. :?

hey there my 79malibu has aluminum wire for the tail lights and its a pain everytime u movwe it seams like it brakes. so i went and got a 6 wire traile wrireing harness and replaced it all no more problems Ed
