Any way to utilize the truck accessories in an LSx swap?

Is there any way to avoid having to run camaro or corvette accessories when swapping an LSx into a gbody? If so, what are the cons to doing so? I'm not worried about running headers and I could live without A/C. The powertrain, fuel upgrades, computers, etc. already make the LSx swap an expensive upgrade without also having to shell out hundreds to replace perfectly good working parts that happen to stick out an inch too far.

That should tell you, but basically, and this is all from memory, the biggest issue with it is the overly large alternator. What I remember is that somebody bought the camaro alternator, because of its smaller size, mounted it in the truck bracke w/o fab work, and it fit under a cowl hood. Also depends on what motor mounts you get as well. BRP hotrods old style, don't know about new, but their old style motor mounts sat the engine up a little bit higher which made it harder to fit. At the same time, the transdapt motor mounts sat it low enough where I could fit almost everything under the hood, though I'd already changed accessories. You may want to talk to boosted lq9, as he had all the brackets and such for sale for 200 or so dollars, or troll ebay or ls1tech.com to find somebody parting out a camaro ls1 or corvette accesories.

Thanks blubaldmontess. I've been trolling LS1Tech, but I haven't seen anybody selling just the LS1 accessories & brackets - usually they want to include an overpriced engine with them. :p

I would love to see an easy to follow, economy-based gbody swap documented, but I guess "easy to follow" means something different to each of us. My brother is a welder so I could get the frame notched easily and cheaply, but that's probably not the case for a lot of others. I need to commit to a plan of action fairly soon though - winter is coming.

Find your engine, tell me when you want to talk, you can call or get me on here, and I'll walk through what I remember, like I said, alot of knowledge you just have to ask the right questions with me to get the answers I know, or the websites I've referenced

mine was a low budget carb swap until I was given a free turbo. Then it got really expensive REALLY fast. LOL.

I ran all the truck stuff and cleared with no problems. I used stock F body clamshell ruber mounts and bought the sphon fram perches. Stock power stearing pully clears and stock hood shuts.
