i found some 16x8 chevy ralleys on summit racing they list them for 4inches of back spacing i now they will fit on the back of my 79cutlass but what back spacing do i need for the front ,my cutlass has 2inch drop spindles in the front and they also list then in 4.5 inch backspacing also

My old torque thrusts were 16x8 in the rear and 16x7 in the front. Had 4.5 backspace on the front with no problems. The back had 4.75 and rubbed the frame. I'd go with the 4 inch backspace on the rears and the 4.5 backspace on the fronts.
iwas going to run the 16x8s on the rear with 4 inches of back spacing thats what my 15s have that im running right now what size tires did you run
On the rear I had up to 255/50 drag radials down to 225/60 street tires. The fronts always had 216/60.
