Brake Light on after ------

I put another column in my ElCamino and I got everything wired up and my left brake light stays on all the time, right brake light is off, everything else column related works fine, wipers, ign etc....

This column was shipped to me and and packed very well.....

What do you guys think this could be?

Maybe brake light switch is bad and the left brake light doesn't work shrug.gif

The brake light switch isn't in the column. It's on the pedal basket. Perhaps it got "dinked" during the column installation?

so that switch is probably the problem?

It's the one on the bottom of the column right?

I was just saying the switch could be bad. I knew it wasn't in the column.

The brake switch is at the top of the brake pedal assembly.

ahhh re-reading is an awesome thing to do....

I'll swap it out with the one from the old column

well i back through everything, and still nothing... flasher won't work either... when i unplug the turn signal switch the brake light goes out....

My guess is that the turn signal switch is bad.....

any takers!!!

This was an easier fix than I thought.....

Went through everything again, a 4th time, my brake light was on because of the stop switch.... thanks LS Tommy!

Signals didn't work right cause i drained the battery, put a charger on it and all is well....
