Brake light issues

Ok well after my car got broken into and they messed up my steering column, i replaced whole column.

after i replaced my brake lights dont work. My reg. running at night tail lights work like a charm.

just nothing when i apply the brakes. I checked under the dash in case i broke something slaping the new column in but nothing! I replaced the brake switch sensor and same thing nothing occurs when i apply the brake.

if it means anything the steering column i replaced has broken signals...thelever goes up and down with no click or signals coming on. Does the brake work off something in the turn signals?

any help would be nice.

Breaks have nothing to do with the turnsignals. Check the switch, there should be constant power to the white wire and power to the orange when the pedal is pushed.
