Brake part storage?

I just harvested the master cylinder, spindles, calipers, discs etc, front and rear, of an Impala SS (RIP) for the big brake upgrade. I know I should wash out the calipers and MC with clean fluid, but brake fluid attracts moisture out of the air. What can I put in the calipers and MC to keep them from corroding while I prepare for the conversion?

Sounds like you plan long term storage? If your projects are anything like mine I understand,I would guess that you plan on rebuilding your mc and calipers before you install them? If it were me I would disassemble them and and wash them in solvent,blow them dry and coat them with motor oil and maybe put em in zip lock baggies or something,then whenever you're ready a good solvent bath and new seals and o-rings & things and they should be good as new,you're correct about brake fluid drawing moisture and it's very corrosive on it's own so you deffinatly don't want to store your parts with that stuff in them,Hope it helps,Later,KillerDave

Thanks, Dave. When you buy replacement parts, especially callipers and brake cylinders, they look fresh, but whatever they coat them with is apparently compatable with brake fluid. I wonder what they put on them. ?????
