Finishing up on a sbc 350 that has a mild billet roller Crane cam. Plan on running a Carter street type mech fuel pump.

This piece is going out of state and won't see it again for 10,000 miles, Was planning on using a Comp 4609 push rod that has the bronze tip but now there's concern about whether it will reach the 10,000 mark w/o losing fuel pressure due to push rod wear.

Does anyone have experience with longevity of these push rods? Is in necessary to go with a roller tip push rod?

Thanks for any responses.

Check with the cam manufacturer.

The one time I used one it had freaky-fast wear.

I've never seen any wear on one of those yet.....but there is an alternative.

#4609 Comp Cams roller tip pushrod, which I have been running for years.

It was a Carter high volume street/strip pump.
